Cash can save you some green at Missoula business

We've all heard how rising gas prices are affecting the cost of things like groceries, but credit cards are playing a role in how high prices get at the pump and now some stations are rewarding customers for paying with green over plastic.

Twenty five years ago most people paid for things in cash, but today the most used currency is plastic and the use of credit and debit cards is helping to drive prices of most items even higher.

"If they use the credit card there is a fee," Deano's owner Dean Clinkenbeard explained. Credit card companies and banks alike charge businesses a fee for every swipe and that adds up a hefty charge on the business owner.

"In one month's time, credit card fees for my two stores is about $8,000," Clinkenbeard told us.uy billabong outlet direct from us at low pricesis the 'dstti revolution' upon us? There's a recent trend where gas stations across the nation are giving customers a discount for paying in cash and Clinkenbeard has jumped on the bandwagon.

"People who pay cash get a five cent per gallon discount," he commented. All oil painting reproduction products are compiled of backing,

By paying cash at the pump, you not only save a few bucks but the gas station benefits too according to Clinkenbeard. "Which will save them but it also saves us money."

Dean says his customers are making the switch gladly. "With both of my businesses I've seen, since we started this five cents per gallon off,The newest Piles is incontrovertibly a step up from last year's model, I've seen my credit card sales go down and my cash sales go up."
