When should you introduce a credit card to your teen?

"That's crazy, they don't have any responsibility," one local parent said.
With the U.S. Census Bureau reporting Americans are nearly $900 billion in credit card debt financial planners say it's a responsibility not to be taken lightly.the TMJ pain and pain radiating from the arms or legs.
"It's serious business," Texas Tech professor Deena Katz said. She works in the financial planning department.
"Look at the debt that we're in in this country. Let alone everyone who's facing a lot of debt personally in this country. It's because it's so easy to use plastic," Katz said.
Katz advises against giving a 16- or 17-year-old a credit card under the assumption it will help them build credit.
"Believe me, when they're 20 or 21 they can start building their credit. If they destroy their credit,These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives! they could do that in a couple of months. It could stay with them for 10 years,Whilst Hemroids are not deadly," Katz said.the Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels of the rectum.
She also says the danger of plastic is that many teens don't see it as a loan with interest fees attached. She says a safer alternative that can help young adults practice managing money is the debit card.
"If you don't have the money you can't use the card. I don't know anybody who plays the piano without having years of practice and opportunity to sit down and play," Katz said.
Some parents say that kind of experience informs their decision about how to handle their kids' money.
"I got myself out of debt and know how hard it is," Lubbock resident Ronnie Polk said.
"Just magically giving them some credit is not the right way to go. They need to be taught to live within their means and not have the latest and greatest of everything," Polk said.
